Our primary focus is the publication and distribution of academically excellent materials that meaningfully incorporate Biblical values and provide true differentiated instruction to successfully teach students of all learning styles.

We currently publish programs in Handwriting, Spelling, Science, and Guided Reading, with the ultimate goal of pointing to God as the source of all wisdom, and creating lifelong learners by making academics fun and engaging.

A Reason For – Category Sales Manager (Full-Time)

We are looking for a talented & experienced Category Sales Manager to manage the sales pipeline and customer relationships for our company, A Reason For®.

A Reason For is a 53-year-old educational publishing company, headquartered in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Our name says it all: A REASON FOR - our faith in God is the reason for everything we do. Our Scripture-based programs in Handwriting, Spelling, Science, and Guided Reading have helped millions of young people maximize their academic potential and realize the relevance of their faith in everyday life.

Our target audience is comprised of faith-based schools and home educators, both domestic and international, as well as parents who wish to supplement a traditional education by strengthening subject comprehension, boosting confidence, and building important learning skills in their child.

The Category Sales Manager’s role is to develop and maintain our sales pipeline by prospecting and engaging with new, existing, and potential customers. The right candidate will embody our company’s values and possess the sales experience and expertise to enhance the depth and breadth of our business’ sales performance. This must be an individual and not an agency

Job Responsibilities:

  • Grow sales pipeline with an emphasis on actively pursuing new sales opportunities with faith-based schools in assigned territory, while also seeking incremental opportunities with existing customers.
  • Generate, prospect and transform leads into sales opportunities with urgency, while representing A Reason For with the utmost integrity and professionalism.
  • Manage telephone and e-mail communications in a timely and conscientious manner while identifying cross-selling, up-selling and lead generation opportunities.
  • Initiate preview orders and provide product presentations/demonstrations to prospects via phone/internet, as needed.
  • Efficiently track, monitor, and close all customers and potential customers throughout the entire sales cycle, providing regular business updates to sales management.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Required experience in either the education field (whether in administration, teaching, or sales OR experience in sales/marketing with demonstrated ability to develop and execute sales and marketing strategy
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree/current pursuit of undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited university or institution, or equivalent experience and education.
